One of the more recent additions to Hanoi’s growing list of cafés that also offer affordable westernish fare, Nha punches above its weight in terms of price and quality.
Cashing in on the recent discovery that Hanoi coffee shops rarely make any money, Nha has made food the focus, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great place to throw back a cup of the black stuff or a delicious yoghurt smoothie. Despite the clear restaurant lean, there are always available tables so you shouldn’t feel guilty about occupying one and dishing out your dong for a coffee and nothing more. The young staff are smiley and charming, and won’t take any issue with you not ordering off the food section of the menu. Still, it’s worth a try if you’re feeling peckish…
We are not foodies – Hanoi has enough of those – but from what we’ve tried, the food is tasty and well priced, though probably not exceptional. However, it’s the drinks that actually steal the show, with wonderful fresh fruit smoothies, delicious iced teas, and a soft and creamy nau da. And hat’s off to the management for cultivating a service team that is diligent without being overly attentive- how refreshing!
