The indoor garden café style is one that’s popping up all over Hanoi at the moment, so you may be stifling a sigh as we tell you that this is another one of those. However, bear with us because The Farmer Gardenista is arguably the master of the trend.
The original Gardenista was a greenhouse-cum-café on Kim Ma, filled with lush greenery, pretty crockery and usually a handful of amateur photographers and models. It was jam-packed on most days of the week so we were all a little confused when it disappeared. But, now we’ve seen the newer model, it all makes sense.
The Farmer Gardenista is a bigger and better version of the original Gardenista, filled with even more greenery. The building is fronted by a large greenhouse with hanging plants dangling infront of every window and large terrariums decking the back wall. One of the tables is made from an actual trunk of a tree and a few others have troffs of flora running through the middle. There’s a few potted plants dotted around the tables, but not so many as to accidentally pick one up instead of your drink.
There’s a few seats in the open air, if you don’t want to swelter in the greenhouse on a hot day. And, there are some tables inside the building too. Neither of the spots are quite as exciting as the greenhouse area, but they’re perfectly comfortable. However, most of the folk sat in these areas are just longingly looking at the people sat among the plants, waiting to pounce on an empty seat.
