This small, photogenic café-cum-flower shop holds its own in a somewhat grandiose area. The rooftop area may only be a mere one floor off the ground but it still feels like a luxurious escape.
Located on Tran Phu, Villa Des Fleurs is just across the road from Lenin Park and only a street away from two Hanoi Hideaway favorites, Tang Tret Cosmo and Jouri. Although it’s surrounded by a number of grand embassies, the café is by no means overshadowed, boasting its own sleek design and architecture. The spot is made up of a small ground floor room with a counter of cakes, a little outdoor seating covered by glass marquee, and a spacious rooftop shaded by trees. Decked out in a black and white with the occasional splash of colorful flowers, the café is eye-catching in its own way without looking out of place. The spiral staircase and the old-fashioned striped canopy are a particularly nice touch.
The café offers an array of drinks along with cakes, pastries and macaroons. And, true to its name, it also sells carefully arranged bouquets, baskets and boxes of flowers in the shop. If you’re going to visit Villa Des Fleurs, do yourself a favor and order a tea. Most things on the menu are more expensive than the average café in Hanoi but, if you get one of the delightful tea sets, you’ll feel that you got your money’s worth.
